There is an expectation that students will realise that learning is a process in which they participate and learning is seen as something they do, not something done to them. The “Learning To Learn Model” developed at this school, provides a structure to illustrate how a Student Portfolio supports this end goal. Over many years, Bucklands Beach Intermediate has celebrated successes both nationally and internationally, in a range of curriculum areas. The school prides itself on high achievements.
Throughout the year, the school offers a range of choices for the students in academic, cultural and sporting areas. There are extension programmes, extra support programmes and after school classes.
Each year Bucklands Beach Intermediate hosts many visitors from within New Zealand and from overseas. The visitors are made very welcome and are able to view programmes in action. The school welcomes visitors at any stage during the school year, from February to December.
